About

My name is Emily Chamberlin and I live in the mountains near Harvard, Idaho, not too far from Washington State University.

At the moment I have been traveling through Ireland and Scotland for the last month, with my return to the states in a week. I have lived all over the U.S. and last winter in Huai’an China. This week, I got lost in Co. Donegal, Ireland for around 4 hours and it was terrific! Yesterday, I was outside Glasgow, and today I find myself in the heart of Edinburgh. I enjoy meeting new people, cultures, and landscapes. I also enjoy helping research sharks, and have been doing so over the past 25 years. I spent July of 2017 in the Neptune Islands with the fascinating creatures.

I have been married to my husband for 17 years, and we’ve been raising two daughters for 17 and 23 years. We all enjoy living with the land and looking at mountains and oceans. But, our girls also enjoy flying helicopters and jumping off of high places.

The purpose of this blog is to give a place for other solo female travelers to give advice and experiences in various locations around the globe. It is also to serve as my portfolio for COM 561 course at Washington State University.

My goal for this program is to start building a foundation for a career in the global communications industry. My 5 year plan is to be working as an adviser on digital media campaigns around the world. I currently hold degrees in Web Design & Development and Multimedia Communications.

My 10 year plans is to work remotely drinking fruity tropical drinks from coconuts.

Join me in sharing and exploration.
